Living in Abu Dhabi

This is our second time in the Middle East and living in Abu Dhabi is a lot easier than being in Kuwait. I love it here and we are 1 1/2 years into this contract and our job will be over by the beginning of March 2014. I have decided not to get involved in anything as I am always sad when I have to leave all my new friends.
We live in a very nice development called Al Muneera. It has a beach and a pool. We also have many places to eat now. So all we need is a grocery store and we would never have to leave. Lol we have seen a lot of the city and go to Dubai often. I love Dubai and The Dubai Mall. We went To The Top of The Burj Khalifa which was really neat.
Today Ash and I went to the pool for a bit. She wanted to come in after the sun went behind the clouds. So it was a short pool day.

Just another day in paradise

The top photo is my biopsy I had to have done on my nose due to a spot that came back and would not stop bleeding. Now I am waiting for the test results and hoping for the best. I had this spot a few years ago and the Dr. gave me some chemo creme which seemed to work and it went away but here 3 years later it returned.

Well again we went from the 70's to the 50's and it just is not right. I do not mind the cooler temps. but I do not like the up & down. The little beauties above are from my garden and the neighbors. The middle one I found growing in the cement on my neighbors stoop and thought it looked so lonely growing all by itself in the cement. The bottom one is from my garden and it looked so nice I just needed a picture of it.

My Sunday Crafts

This is what I did on sunday. I played all day with fabric. I made 2 pillowcases, did some cut up 9 patches, and finished a Laurel Burch inspired Quilt. I had fun and the only time I can do this is when I have no babies.

UFO's I worked on

I am doing some Quilts and such that have laid around for years. I got some fleece and backed them so they are lighter and look really nice. I gave my dad one of the fleece backed quilts and he loved it as it was not heavy on him.
I am also working on my "O" PC's for artsnthemail and will post pics tomorrow. I am also cutting out pieces for many grandmother flower gardens to work on when I go to Kuwait. I am bringing alot of hand work to do so I do not have to bring my sewing machine.

More of my crafts

This is a Laurel Burch PC trade I was in and they turned out really well. I love all of her stuff and all of them make really colorful PC's.
These are the PSI's I made for the "B" swap. They were blue butterflies, blue bulbs, blue buttons, and blue shells. They were done one blue batik material I sure got a lot of B's.

These were done for a Artsnthemail PC swap called Circles. I really enjoy doing these swaps but I did get very far behind and finally got out from under.

My Elvis PC's were also for an Artsnthemail swap. I really love Elvis and I really liked this swap. I did get 4 back and they were really good.

my Crafts

These are a few of the things that I have done with my F.A.T. group. I did purple and word PSI's and I thought they turned out really cute. The postcards to the right were done for a swap awhile back. They turned out really well and I was very proud of them.

This picture I put here as I am going to do a journal page with this photo as the center of it. It will be in Memory of my MOM. This was in happier times as my parents divorced when I was 20 years old. But, to this day no one has ever said why they divorced. But that is the passed and my dad is with a wonderful women who takes really good care of him after his stroke. He is all I have.
